Au Revoir . . .

Well folks, this is it. Our little Parisian gal will soon be one no more.
This week I had hoped to do a tribute to Paris by sharing a number of pics that Daniel and I took over our last weekend here. Unfortunately, the cord for the camera got packed away with the rest of our earthly belongings on Monday when the movers came. That means I can't transfer pictures until we find the cord amid the boxes once we arrive in Switzerland. Too bad . . . But never fear! I will be taking pictures along of the way and will have lots of material once we finally get settled. We are currently living in a completely bare apartment and will be driving out Friday after the final walk through.
Poor Grady is horribly confused and paces back and forth looking for his stuff. Can't say that I blame him. Suddenly it doesn't feel like our apartment any more.
We are looking forward to being settled into our new place and looking forward to seeing lots of family and friends in October as we are flying to MN for a visit.
Take care and see you in Switzerland!

All My Children

The kids are sitting together in the living room.
Analise seems to be enjoying the bounce chair. Each kick sets off the music and we get a few smiles but pretty quickly she gets tired of it and a little overstimulated - then the tears come!

My Favorite Corner

A friend from church who comes to visit Paris from Dallas, TX always sends a "letter" out each week via email to her friends and family back home. Here's her funny story for the week. . .

Vicki's Letter

The first time I stayed in Paris my hotel was adjacent to a corner where six streets come together and make for a very interesting intersection. I love this corner. My favorite shoe store is here and so is my favorite place to get fromage blanc. It's only a few short steps for a great place to pick up incredible bread and I can always stop by and visit with the same people who still work at the hotel. So, on my first day back in Paris as I rounded this corner after picking up bread and fromage blanc it shouldn't have been any surprise at all when I ran smack into one of my friends who had been pregnant when I left in June and she was now pushing her new baby girl in a pram. It was a beautiful day and she had decided to ride the bus over to this part of town to window shop and just enjoy the day out with her new baby, Analise. I joined them and we did what any normal French person would have done...we dropped everything and walked to the park and enjoyed the rest of the day with the baby. Analise is just at that age where even a yawn looks like a smile.... She had on an adorable "French" hat and so her Mom and I took some pictures to share on her Blog. ( See attached photo!)

Crossword

One of dad's favorite things to do is the crossword in the paper. Analise is helping hold the pen - how nice of her.

Steady, steady! Concentrate!

Shower for Beth

Saturday Analise and I helped Denise Kirby host a shower for Eloise and Beth. It was held at the Kirby's apartment.
Here is "Little" Analise and "Big" Analisse. Denise and Brian's daughter (from whom we stole the name!)

Analise and I with Beth and Eloise. Amazing what a difference a two and a half months makes!

Little Lamb

The little Parisian gal out and about in the city. We happened to run into a friend from church and stopped at a park to relax, chat, and for Analise to have a quick bite. Pretty cute in her little hat and new fleece fall coat.

Taking a nap under her lamb quilt from Great Grandma Johnson. All the more cozy because it was made with lots of love!

My ears are cold!
Thanks Grandma J for the jamies and Grandma M for the bunny slippers!

Rodin Gardens

Thursday Analise and I visited the Rodin gardens outside the Rodin museum.
They let you in for free if you accompany a child- score!
I was hoping Analise would appreciate some culture, but I guess she was a little too tired.
Here she is parked in front of Rodin's "The Thinker."

Just across from the gardens are "Les Invalides" with the gold dome and in the distance is the Eiffel Tower.
The roses all around the garden were still blooming and quite pretty.

trust me she's in there and still sleeping. . .

With beautiful tree lined paths for walking, it's a great spot on a warm fall day.

still sleeping . . .

At the back of the gardens are reclining chairs to sit and relax. I read for awhile while my dear little daughter . . .

SLEPT!
That's right, she slept the entire trip.
So much for culture, maybe another time-
sweet dreams Analise.

Some pics . . .

A sunny day in Paris seems to be kind of rare this summer, so we took advantage of the sunshine! This is the view from our apartment- not bad, eh? I'm sure we'll miss it when we're gone.

Mom and Analise are ready to go visit Beth and baby. Isn't she looking like such a little lady? Thanks Debbie Sarensen for the cute outfit!

Beth and bay Eloise at the hospital last Saturday.

Even though she looks all grown she's still just our little baby! This big day has her all worn out.

New Baby on the Block

Yesterday Analise went to the hospital to welcome Eloise Seelinger to the world. After laboring for five hours the doctors decided they needed to do an emergency c-section because Eloise's head was tipped back and it was causing stress on her heart. Thankfully mom and baby are doing great.

Analise is sitting with Beth's mom so that I could hold the new baby.
Suddenly Analise does not seem like such a small baby when looking at a newborn- it's crazy! Eloise has tons of thick black hair- just like Beth and her mom, such a little cutie.

This morning she stretched out on the couch to play while I made some phone calls.

The famous "pucker" face.

There's that smile!
