Big Brother

Oh, hey guys.
Yeah, it's me, Grady- everybody's favorite dog.
Just wanted to let everybody know that I'm a big brother.
At least, that's what mom and dad tell me, but I'm not so sure. See, they brought home this little squeak toy from the hospital and call her my "baby sister"- but she doesn't have enough hair, she doesn't like to play, and you should hear her bark- totally weird!
I want to "get to know" her better, but mom and dad are always like- "Grady, no lick, Grady, that's not your toy, no Grady, Analise doesn't want to play with your bone,"- so what am I supposed to do?
Guess I'll just wait and see how it goes. Maybe they can send her back for a full refund- I think this ones not quite functioning properly.
I'm keeping my eyes open to monitor the situation.
So far this is what I observe: she eats, sleeps, and goes to the bathroom- sound like an average day for yours truly- hmm, maybe we ARE related!

Just for fun

These are just a few random pics.
Daddy and his little princess. Dad keeps trying to use a wide vocabulary around Analise- I guess it's never too early to try!
Mom practices self discipline- napping with baby. You may think I'm joking- but I had a hard time not always trying to get other things done when she sleeps. Well, I've learned!!
Next we have three of four generations of "Louises." Too bad Great Grandma Schlobohm couldn't be here!
Finally we have some fun faces from our little gal. Enjoy!!

Monday, Monday

Today was a sad day - time for our first vaccination. You can see the bandage on her little thigh. Mom held her, but there was no stopping that cry- WOW!
Besides the vaccination, the Dr. let took length and weight measurements and it looks like she's growing nicely.
She's at 4.2 kilos (just over 9 pounds) and 56 cm - up 5 cm from our last visit a month ago.
Daniel and I did some research about the measurements and, not surprisingly, she's in the 50th percentile in weight and 90th percentile for height. I think we have a Mueller on our hands!
Afterwards, Analise was pretty sleepy and is taking a nap with Grady.
Her outfit came from Christy Schaefer, out in Colorado- thanks Christy!

Paris Fashion

Sporting the latest in Paris fashion, Analise ventured out to church this morning and is ready for a nap. In a lightweight cotton dress and matching bloomer from the chic children's store "Du Pareil ou Meme", this little dolly was a charmer!
Also, friends Matt and Steph along with their sons Ben and Theodore visited Saturday evening. Theo and Analise cozied up for a ride in the stroller- but Analise seemed to be thinking that maybe it was a bit too cozy! Theodore was born just a week before Analise, they were almost birthday buddies.

Busy, busy, busy!

The little gal likes to move!
Thanks to the Pieper family (Sarah's aunt Kim and family) Analise has been enjoying Tummy Time on her surfboard tummy time mat. Working out those neck muscles and already developing some coordination to start crawling (yikes!) - keeps mom and baby busy.
Bath time is also a busy time- for the parents- As in "Go fast before she starts crying!"
O.k., maybe baby isn't always busy- time with grandma was pretty relaxed. Grandma (mom) Johnson came to visit for a few weeks at the beginning of July and Analise loved the extra attention, hugs and cuddles. And I was definitely reminded that moms are a source of comfort, no matter at what point in the mother-daughter relationship.
A little down time with dad looks calm, but is actually full of looking at lights, listening to Counting Crows, and waving those arms and legs. One thing is for sure- when baby is busy, mom and dad are busy!

Getting Started

Hello friends and family!
Welcome to Analise's blog page.
Attempting a blog is a first for me, but I figure if I can handle having a kid, I should probably be able to handle a blog- right?
Analise is nearing her first month birthday, and already I see such changes in her that it makes me excited for all that is coming. From holding her head up, to having more alert eyes, to losing her umbilical chord stump, it seems like every day holds something new! (but many of the same events too- diapers, sleeping, crying and eating are all regular occurrences- don't worry)
So, thanks for taking the time to check out the blog, I hope you enjoy watching the progress and day-to-day events of Analise's life as much as we enjoy sharing them with her.
