Tuesday the family ventured out to the US Embassy to register Analise. She received a "birth abroad" birth certificate and began the process for a passport. It should come by mail within the next 10 days.
Needless to say, mom took the opportunity to get dressed up for "going out." She is wearing a Gap dress and bloomers from Stephanie, ruffle socks that I used to wear as a baby, and patten leather Mary Jane shoes that I used for my dolls - now they're for the real dolly! So someone was looking pretty snazzy. Funny thing about a new baby though, the more you get interested in what they're wearing, the less interested you are in your own outfit! Hence the dandy pajamas I'm still sporting 15 minutes before we're supposed to leave- (I told Daniel not to get me in the shot!!)
And, even if you're the cutest kid in the world, we are again reminded that a passport picture is a passport picture no matter what. They just are never good! She was sleeping deeply and we had to rouse her for the photo- even a baby's eyes must be open for the picture. After a number of shots, the guy finally thought he could make this one work- lets hope so!
So that was the morning adventure and now the little lady is ready for anything equipped with her birth certificate and passport. Mom and dad did pay the price though for the full morning, as she was pretty fussy all afternoon. Maybe too much stimulation? Overtired? Doesn't want to be an American citizen? We just don't know.
Signing off for now, talk to you again soon!

With the state of the country, sometimes being an American citizen makes me fussy too!
